Pennsylvania

I’ve always wanted to write a blog, but I’ve never felt like I was interesting enough for other people to take time out of their day to read my entries. Now, however, I’m at a point of my life where everything is changing drastically in the coolest way, and I finally think it’s worth sharing with you all.

Five days ago I came back from France, but I traded the swamps for the mountains and decided it would be a nice change to stay with my uncle in rural Pennsylvania rather than returning to a densely populated, very hot and humid city. Let me be clear, Lafayette was good to me but I feel that, at least for now, I’ve outgrown it. I am delighted to be living in such a quaint, slow-paced town where I see endless green fields in every direction and there is always a breeze on my face.

With this new excitement comes new responsibilities. I’m learning how to provide more for myself already. I think when you buy your own shampoo you’re officially an adult (not really, but it’s a big step ☺).  I suppose I like being an adult, though, because guess who has a king-sized bed now!

Although I’m a bit scared of taking on new responsibilities, I know that it comes with more freedom. I think that, though it’s human nature, we all need to stop fearing the difficult things. “Strength is gained in the struggle.”
